System Requirements

On this page, you will find software and hardware requirements for different roles. All roles can be installed on a single computer, or on separate multiple computers (for management reasons, to scale out, or for load-balancing). For an installation walkthrough, click here. 	Web Client Role	Runs within a browser, allowing users to view & analyze data.
	Web Service Role	Implements a secure XML-based Web API (Data Analysis Web Service).
	Back-End Role	Implements a computing mesh responsible for scheduling and executing tasks.
	Database Role	Implement a SQL-based storage system used to store all data.

Web Client Role

Here are the requirements for the Web Client role:

Browser	Microsoft Internet Explorer 7+ Mozilla Firefox 3+ Google Chrome 1+
Hardware	Single 2 Ghz processor (or better) 2 Gig memory (or better)
Software	Microsoft Silverlight 3.0 (installed on first use)

Web Service Role

Here are the requirements for the Web Service role:

Operating System	Windows 64 bit Server (with IIS) (preferred) Windows 32 bit Server (with IIS) Windows Vista 64 bit or higher (with IIS) Windows Vista 32 bit or higher (with IIS)
Hardware	Dual 2 Ghz processor (or better) 4 Gig memory (or better)
Software	.NET 3.5 (installed by our setup) ODBC driver (only if using MySQL)

Back-End Role

Here are the requirements for the Back-End role:

Operating System	Windows 64 bit Server (IIS not required) (preferred) Windows 32 bit Server (IIS not required) Windows Vista 32 bit or higher (IIS not required) Windows Vista 64 bit or higher (IIS not required)
Hardware	Dual 2 Ghz processor (or better) 4 Gig memory (or better)
Software	.NET 3.5 (installed by our setup) ODBC driver (only if using MySQL)

Database Role

Here are the requirements for the Database role:

Operating System	As required by the database system
Hardware	Dual 2 Ghz processor (or better) 4 Gig memory (or better)
Software	SQL Server 2005+ MySQL 5+
